[2] Ortiz is well-known for his involvement with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and, as an ex- Light Heavyweight Champion and holding the title from April 14th, 2001 to September 26, 2003, he was the Light Heavyweight Champion. Ortiz eventually became the most popular pay-per-view draw of 2006 for his bouts with Liddell, Forrest Griffin, and Ken Shamrock.Ortiz is the president of Punishment Athletics' MMA equipment and clothing line, which is based in his home town of Huntington Beach, California.
